The Mayor of our city and his wife visited our MOPS group this month to discuss Marriage
——————————
The mayor came and spoke today with a vision for our city.
A Pastor and a father, he is well-spoken, poised and witty.
His wife, aglow with faith and pride
Came along, too and she sat by his side.
The theme was our marriages, and how we relate
Though these days, for us, the kids dominate.
Some day they will grow, he promised us true
And we’re left with the man we promised to “do.”
With that in mind, his lovely wife
told of a promise that once changed her life
Each man has a need, science tells us it’s so
So this lovely lady decided to never say no.
Let the dinner burn, let the neighbors frown
When he says he “needs” it a wife must lay down.
Excuse me, to be precise, we must
Lay down only when that’s the way our men lust
Be it standing or soaking or all tangled around
The key to our husbands hearts has been found.
Well yippee for him, we snarl in disgust.
Let’s say we give it, what’s in it for us?
I mean, we enjoy it of course, it is fun
It just isn’t practical at quarter to one.
And we have needs, too- like some help with the kitchen
He doesn’t have to do it all but at least he could pitch in.
A man, she assured us, is just like a child.
When his needs aren’t met he can go a bit wild.
I think of my daughter, at the end of her rope
who is missing her nap and already can’t cope.
I think of my son with his penchant for food
He misses a snack and can get pretty rude
I think of myself when my needs aren’t met.
Wait- have they ever been, hmm, I forget.
So the mayor proclaimed it, we must save our town
When lonely marriages and fighting abound
The best way to solve it, says God up above
Is to always say yes when your husband needs love.
My husband left early, so he missed out on the end
Of this meeting, so he’ll never know what else they said
But I’ll tell him of course that it won’t ever work
Unless he meets the needs of his wife (as I smirk)
Come home early every now and then and listen to me talk
Tell me all about your day and let’s go for a walk
Ask me how the kids are doing and bring me a cup of tea
It’s much more fun to serve you when I see that you serve me.
My needs, I have noticed aren’t as simple as yours
And don’t have to take place behind locked and closed doors.
I crave your attention, see, our needs mesh so well.
This is just going to be so much fun, I can tell.
We’ll work on your needs every 48 hours
And the time in between will be MINE. I mean, ours.
