Bangs

This is what I came home to last night from work. Look past the runny nose, past the chubby cheeks and past the sleepy eyes and into the bangs. Yes, the bangs. She had no bangs when I left for work and yet when I get home she’s got bangs. I believe it is the fault of my recently snaggle-toothed 6 year old. She has a long standing reputation as a (not very talented) barber. It all started when she was about two years old. Then again at 2 and a half and then a couple more times before she turned four. I think she’s relapsed. I wonder if the baby will have psychological damage from hearing me say so very many times “She looks so stupid now.” I doubt it. Hopefully they’ll grow quickly. I’ve always hated short bangs. Once they hit the eyebrow they’ll be OK. And I really screwed up she will never admit it was her because I actually said “When I find out who did this they will wake up bald.” WHat was I thinking? Why am I so inclined to making empty threats that really do the opposite of what I want? I wanted her to admit it, now I have made truth-telling a very scary proposition. Ahhh- another day another day.
