Coffee beans (on top) resemble deer poop.
Upside down, they resemble deer feet.

Deer & Coffee
Arizona
Been thinking about Arizona lately. My mom moved there- My friend Syndie from High School lives there. The Mothering magazine headquarters are either there or in New Mexico. Last night we saw a show about campers (If I were British I’d call it a caravan) It was insane how expensive they were. It’s so not my style to spend $300K on a gas guzzling home-on-wheels. I’d much rather buy an old funky Bus, convert it to Biodiesel, paint it pink and head for the hills. Arizona would definitely be a destination. It would be fun to decorate the inside, too. I love all the hidden nooks & crannies of a camper/caravac/hippybus. I think we’d sleep in hammocks. And I’d want to also make the roof of the thing completely flat with anchor hooks and 24 inch high rails on the edges so we could pitch a tent there, and use it as a patio.
Teriyaki from scratch
I checked allrecipes.com because I’ve heard so much buzz about it. I loved the recipe I found for a baked chicken teriyaki. It recommended thighs, MrH doesn’t eat anything but white meat, so I used boneless, skinless. It came out delicious. We had it with steamed Broccoli and fried Udon noodles. Loved it. Will definitely make it again. I’m thinking it would be good with Beef, I wonder if I could crockpot it.
Thank God for Women
Aren’t women awesome. All over blogland, women are sharing things that work in their lives, so that no matter what the problem, dilemma or issue is, all you need to do is shout out the question, and you’ll find women who have answered it for themselves, and are willing to share.
Major point today is the Grocery Gathering. This is women who have cracked the whole couponing code, and successfully organized their Grocery store sale ads with all forms of printable and newspaper coupons, coordinated everything altogether and are posting it each week for MY benefit. And yours, if you choose to allow massive savings into your life. And it’s such a communal effort, too. Each grocery store chain is represented by a different blogger, so I can subscribe to the feed from whoever handles my stores (Safeway & Albertsons, in case you wondered) It’s a lot easier than scouring the boards at HotCouponWorld.com (the first couponing place I found, that’s still good for finding specific coupons, but not exactly as easy as this whole grocery gathering thing. Enjoy!

Howdy neighbors, we’ll be at the Safeway on Nob Hill selling cookies today, I expect to see you there…. buying cookies. From the Girl Scouts… See you there…10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
And Garden
I think I have to rename this blog mrs Hannigan’s Home & Garden because otherwise I’d have no place to share my garden excitement (Didn’t think of that in the middle of Winter)
Here’s the current excitement:
-Yesterday’s snow didn’t freeze the ground
-Bulb flowers in front are up & I see a bud on one of the daffodils
-Our lawn is so green
-Roses I trimmed are looking great, I better do the backyard soon.
-Family friend has started bush beans & tomatoes in her greenhouse & offered us some once they’re ready. Yippee, G1 will be so excited.
-I should start something
-MrH has done some yardwork fixing planters and clearing the playground / treehouse area of dangerous things to step on, now we need to lay some sod down or something, because we have a hill of dirt and the kids keep coming in the house filthy.
-I left some snapdragons and daisies in the ground and they have new growth.
-Peonies are coming up, too.
Coming Soon- Free Coffee
My coffee sample from Jamaica something will be here………….I hope it’s as good as the Coffee Fool…………I’ll let you know
slept all day
She slept all day and I miss her. Is that crazy? She’s learned to blow raspberries and her chin has been covered on slobbery bubbles.
Scrabble for Spelling Skills and more
Leave it to a reformed unschooler to consider Scrabble an important piece of curriculum. Not only does it help with spelling, but it also uses math skills. Today M1 kept score, and I kicked her butt. I’m a fierce scrabble player, I must confess. I used to be a Scrabble delinquent, my family still hasn’t forgotten about the time in High School when I’d invent words and definitions on the fly. “Hand me the dictionary please, I need to look up yogense… Yipee it
IS a word, it means…. the speed at which milk molecules are enzymatically turned into yogurt.” The gig lasted a while, I’m not sure exactly which invented word or definition finally got me caught.
